Eternal Mandate
Eternal Mandate is an original project, blending an imperial cyberpunk environment with ancient traditions in a Chinese epic.
Imperial Boardroom
Maya, Blender, Substance (2022)
The modeling for this piece was done in a total of one day, and the surfacing was partially performed using Substance Designer and Substance Sampler, creating materials which I found to be rather realistic.
Another notable advancement for this piece is the use of Blender nodes to create volumetric fog and an image-based backdrop with emission.
Xiang Lishi IV
This is the fourth attempt at rendering the imperial assassin Xiang, and the most successful.
Sculpting and retopology was performed in Blender, before transitioning to Maya for proper rigging and binding. UVs were created in Photoshop and applied in Maya as well.
Fong Hoi Cityscape Study
Maya, Blender (2021)
This piece was a study in creating less detailed environments quickly using the least amount of polys possible. Using a preexisting picture of a city, I learned the skill of clustering similar shapes to those I was trying to emulate through UVs, a technique I have found to be somewhat common in games.
Character Concept : Xiang Lishi
Medibang (2020)
This is a character concept for my personal project, Eternal Mandate, which tells the story of a futuristic imperial China and its return to its original traditional and cultural values, while embracing the freedoms of contemporary society.
The seamless fusion of traditional garments and ornaments with modern fashion helps to embody the premise of the universe.
